Photoset Sunday #4 – “Encaustic” by Dawn Huemann

Encaustic Photography is a technique where wax and pigment are used on an image, which can be used to create a variety of effects. In this series by Dawn Huemann, the encaustic technique is used to give her photos a withered, vintage look while still maintaining vivid colors and warm tones. The vignetting around the edges also serves to give the photos a soft glowing quality, as though the images were from a warm summer memory.
